free day

We had the best free day the other day. Free days help that entertainment envelope last all month long!

In the morning, we went to our regular story time at the library where we made these lovely pumpkin wind socks.

After lunch and a short rest, we headed to one of the other city libraries for a princess party. Lou was not as excited as Bee! I had actually thought that he could stay with daddy, but he had to do something that day work related.

Everyone dressed up and listened to princess stories. The girls walked around with bean bags on their heads to practice good princess posture. They made bead necklaces and then enjoyed some cupcakes and punch.

Poor Lou, I kept asking him if he wanted to participate in the different activities and he would pout and say "I boy!" Funny, when the food came out, he was A-OK with sitting at the pink table! (I don't know what is going on with the format of pictures and text today... it's all crazy)

We left from there and met daddy at the monthly free evening at the children's museum. This time, we brought our own rain gear so we could play as long as we wanted in the water area.

They have a table set up with a changing activity. Last month it was tool and old computer guts. This month it was packing peanuts and toothpicks. That's a fun activity we haven't done at home before. Now, we just wait for a package...
