Thanksgiving name cards

Grandma, we're bringing the name cards for Thanksgiving! I have been hanging on to this idea for preserving and decorating with fall leaves for awhile. The kids and I have been collecting and pressing leaves to be ready. We finally decided what to do with the leaves, name cards for the Thanksgiving table.

First all leaves are pressed in a book or in between layers of newspaper. They don't have to be pressed completely flat, they just need to dry out and not curl up. This takes a week or at least several days. Then they all get a nice layer of modge podge on both sides. Finally, add names of your guests with a paint pen or metallic sharpie.

We are taking ours in a little box so they don't get crunched. I am not sure how they will save for the next year, but we added a few blank leaves just in case our thanksgiving family grows.

That is a great idea. It is getting close. Last year it snowed. I'm sure you have heavier clothes this year but I hope we have sunshine.
